The Miss Key West is the first locally owned and active shrimp boat to operate out of Key West’s Historic Seaport in more than 30 years.
Welcome to the Miss Key West, a shrimping vessel that has been shrimping in the Florida Keys for over 30 years! We are Southeastern Shrimp & Seafood, committed to bringing our customers the catch of the day straight from our deck. Our mission is to provide an unbeatable selection of pink Shrimp caught by local fishermen aboard the beloved Miss Key West. We are passionate about providing delicious seafood with an even better story behind it. Our vision goes beyond just delivering delicious seafood; we want to revitalize Monroe County’s fishing industry and create economic stability for our hardworking local fishermen. With the Miss Key West, we aim to bring back an industry that has been relegated to the past and remembered only in historical photos. Our shrimp boat is a testament to the hard-working and hard-partying commercial shrimping industry that put Key West on the map during the “pink gold rush” of the 1960s. The Miss Key West is the only registered and producing commercial shrimp vessel in Monroe County, owned by Daniel Smith and James Phelps, two entrepreneurs with deep roots in fishing and shrimping around these parts. With captain Mark Thomson and their families supporting them, they knew it was time to get shrimping! Our team of experienced and knowledgeable crew is proud to offer locally caught Key West pink shrimp to seafood restaurants and vendors, who can now offer this delicious seafood delicacy from a locally owned and locally docked vessel.
As the first locally owned and active shrimp boat to operate out of Key West’s Historic Seaport in more than 30 years, the Miss Key West has made headlines in FisheryNation.com, a website dedicated to commercial fishing and the people it employs, as well as fishery regulations nationwide. This vessel has not only become a part of Key West history, but it is also making history by bringing back an industry that was as quintessentially Key West as sponging, wrecking, and now, tourism. We are proud to be a part of the future and the history of Key West’s shrimping industry. Our shrimp boat continues to contribute to this rich history and legacy of the commercial shrimping industry in Key West.

These succulent Wild Caught Key West Pink Shrimp are harvested in the pristine waters of the Dry Tortugas offshore of Key West, FL. They have a delicately sweet and mild flavor that makes them ideal for peel-and-eat, shrimp cocktail, scampi dishes, or any other dish you desire. Not only can they be distinguished by their striking pink shell but also a red dot that adorns each one! When cooked, these gorgeous pink Shrimp become an opaque color. This species is unique due to its environment – living in clean coral sand off the west coast of Florida – which contributes to its pleasing hue and taste.
